The First Modern Muscle Car

The First Modern Muscle Car

1987 Buick GNX

By modern, we mean simply NOT A V8. The GNX – and the predecessor Grand National – were still classic body-on-frame cars, but with a relatively high-tech turbocharged V6 engine. These all-black supercars were revolutionary for their time, and remain well sought-after collectibles.

This one looks to be nearly perfect, though the seller says he can’t get into the trunk for some reason. That should be an easy fix. The mesh alloy wheels with the polished lips look magnificent. We’d love a chance to take this down a drag strip a few times.

It’s on eBay in Michigan for $75k or offer.1987 Buick GNX engine 1987 Buick GNX interior 1987 Buick GNX black rear quarter 1987 Buick GNX black profile
