Indeed, the short-lived Cadillac XLR was based on the C6-generation Corvette, though with clearly distinct styling, and a Northstar V8 in place of the legendary LS-series V8. Still, it’s an unusual sight.
For the driver who doesn’t need the outright speed of a ‘Vette, and loves the idea of driving something a little different, this XLR might be a great idea. The metal hardtop should seal much better than the Chevy’s ragtop, making this safer to park on the street or driveway if needed.
This one isn’t perfect, with a couple leaks, scratches, and a faulty cupholder – all easy fixes to be expected with an older car. Still, this is cheap considering the potential beneath.
