I’d Call That A Bargain, The Best I Ever Had

1999 Porsche 911

Well, at least until you look at the interior.

The 996-series Porsche 911 is unbelievably cheap. It’s the first water-cooled 911, so many Porsche fanatics hate it. It has some unreliability issues related to the intermediate shaft bearing, which can possibly grenade the engine. And the interior is cheapened by some parts sharing with the Boxster.

But it’s still a great performance car. We’ve seen them sell for under $10k. This one, with a custom (paint to sample) orange paint, and equally custom green-and-orange interior, is still inexpensive. The seller claims that the “main seal bearing” has been replaced – if they mean the IMS, then this should be a good buy. Get documentation before bidding.

It’s on eBay in Las Vegas for $16,500 or offer.
