Indeed, Porsche wasn’t the only automaker to see a possible advantage to hanging the engine behind the rear wheels. Fiat’s 600 was similarly built, on a much smaller scale, and naturally Abarth got involved in making it faster.

These were infamous for propping the engine cover open while racing – likely for cooling, though there may have been an aerodynamic advantage as well. We aren’t certain if this is a factory car, or if it is an aftermarket recreation. The seller gives little info, and calls it a ’77 even though the 600 stopped production in matter, because this looks like a fun vintage race toy.
