1960 Austin Healey Sprite
Certainly, the original 948cc four cylinder engine in the first-generation Sprite is a bit underpowered – most sensible owners looking for power drop in a later 1275cc engine, perhaps with a big cam and a pair of sidedraft carbs.
This owner took things a bit beyond, with a 3.5 liter Rover V8.
There is very little of the original Sprite underneath – it’s been thoroughly rebuilt to handle the extra torque. A Mazda differential has been added, along with a matching independent rear suspension.
This looks distinctly terrifying to drive. And we love it.
It’s on eBay in southern California with reserve not yet met.
