1972 Datsun 240Z
Certainly, there are so many genres of classic that we appreciate, but the early 240Z is so beloved that we can’t help ourselves. It doesn’t hurt when one as gorgeous as this swapped model appears.
Well, really, it does hurt, because we look at our checking account and decide that paying the mortgage really should be a priority over another car for now…
Anyhow, this Z is as straight and clean as one typically sees from the salt-free Pacific Northwest. The big news is under the long hood, where a RB20 two-liter turbo six out of a Nissan Skyline resides. It’s not as powerful as the typical RB26 from the GT-R, but 240hp should be plenty for now. More grunt is a turbo swap and a tune away. The alloys – decent replicas of the RS Watanabe wheels found on so many tuned Japanese cars of the era – look magnificent. This is just about right.
It’s on eBay in Oregon with reserve not yet met.
