1970 Porsche 914/6
Like all air-cooled six-cylinder Porsches, the 914/6 has been skyrocketing in value lately. This one seems to be – and we write this with the full knowledge of what they were worth five years ago – somewhat of a bargain-priced example. But there are a couple of things holding it back.
It’s a beauty, certainly. But that black paint isn’t original – it was painted orange from the factory. The engine is suspect, too – no word if it’s the original block, but it now displaces 2.4 liters. These modifications do limit the maximum price, keeping it somewhat reasonable for a new owner who’d rather drive than polish.
It’s on Pelican Parts in California for $45k or offer.
