300Z? 240M? Z3? What Should It Be Called?

1971 Datsun 240Z

We are actually surprised that we haven’t seen more of these. An M3 engine swapped into an early Z makes plenty of sense – 240hp in the lightweight chassis will certainly wake up the performance. And, as it’s still an inline six, it seems to fit nicely.

The interior could use some finishing – the vinyl on the door cards and over the transmission tunnel is wrinkled and sagging, and the carpets are in need of help – but this looks to be quite the bargain.

It’s on Craigslist near Atlanta for $8500 or offer.
