Z Plus A Pile Of Fiberglass = Primadonna? Who Knew?

1971 Datsun 240Z

Well, it seems to be an obscure conversion done by a shop in Northern California to the early Z Car..said to be one of three ever built. It’s a bit awkward from some angles, but in others it reminds of the IMSA GT racers of the time period. Certainly that rear wing wouldn’t be out of place on a Porsche 935.

The deep-dish gold-mesh-centered alloy wheels are perfect for the time period, and while we’d love to see a proper turbocharged Datsun inline six under the hood, a small-block is always appropriate. It needs some fiberglass and paint work, but otherwise it’s a very interesting example of what could be done with the Z.

It’s on eBay in New York for $25k or offer.
