1987 BMW 325is
Owing to their seemingly modular nature, BMWs have long been favorite canvases for engine swaps. Take big engine from bigger or newer car, plug into smaller/older car. Roast tires and repeat.
This S50 engine (out of a mid-90’s M3) offers a three-liter straight six and 240hp, compared to the single cam 2.5 liter and 170hp found in the original. That’s assuming the engine hasn’t had anything done to it.
It looks superb as well – the paint gleams, the metal looks straight, and the blacked-out BBS 3-piece wheels look perfect. Considering the work that’s gone into this, it seems to be a bargain.
It’s on Craigslist in Northern Kentucky for $8500 or offer.
