Del Rio Brothers Custom Roadster
The AMBR award – short for “America’s Most Beautiful Roadster” – is one of the longest-lived and most prestigious trophies given in the hot rodding world. This fiberglass-bodied Model T-inspired dragster won the award in 1971. It also was a winning drag racer at the same time.
It’s been restored by the original builders, and is now powered by a 468ci big-block Chevy. With sub-nine second quarter mile times, this has to be incredibly quick and terrifying to run down the strip. We’d love to pull the ‘chute just once..as long as we had someone competent to repack it.
It’s on eBay in California with reserve not yet met.
