1984 Ford Falcon XE
While the rear-drive Falcon died in the US in 1970, it has continued down under, though 2016 seems to be the end of the line for the full-size sedan even in Australia. This XE-series Falcon is a rare sight here in the States, made even more unusual by the big-block engine.
While the Falcon XE was offered by the factory with I6 or small-block Cleveland V8s, this one has had a 460ci V8 swapped in. We can’t imagine that handling has been improved by the heavier lump up front, but it should get off the line quite nicely.
It needs some work – we spy some body filler on the front air dam, and possibly a missing radio..but this could be one heck of a sleeper.
It’s on eBay in Boulder with reserve not yet met.
Yes, we know the header image is flipped. It’s from down under, right?
