1974 MGBGT

This purple, called “Aconite” in the British Leyland catalog, has to be one of the most unusual and rare colors ever applied by Abingdon. We love it.

We love the BGT in general, actually. It’s perhaps the best application ever of a solid roof to a car meant to be a ragtop.

This one looks to be just about perfect, though we prefer the earlier cars simply due to the emissions controls that started to creep onto these ’74s. It looks like everything is in place under the bonnet, actually – surprising, since many people tend to yank the extra hoses to ease servicing.

It’s on eBay in Washington with reserve not yet met.1974 MGBGT engine 1974 MGBGT purple rear quarter
