1978 Porsche 911SC
911s from the late ’70s and early ’80s seem to fall in a valley of undesirability. The early “longhood” cars are lightweight, fun toys, where cars from the mid-’80s on are desireable for their bigger engines and greater creature comforts.
The seller of this 911SC calls it a “factory lightweight”, with no sunroof, deleted right-side mirror, and shorter 15″ wheels making this an an unusually-optioned car. With a curbweight under 2600 pounds, this seems like it should be quite fun. We love the deep brown paint, matched with the plaid interior. It’s not for everyone, but at least one COTD staffer is considering a kidney sale to fund this.
It’s on eBay in Pennsylvania for $50k or offer.
