1958 Thames Car Hauler
Motorsports in the ’50s and ’60s were so different than today. Privateers could show up at even Formula One events and compete. Pete Lovely was an American racer who would haul his cars on the back of this flatbed..it looks to be offered by his family now.
It’s an English Ford – Thames – truck, and should be quite sturdy, if not at all plush like a modern pickup. However, vintage racing is as much a show in the paddock as it is an event on the track, and rolling up to the event with an appropriately-vintage hauler will cause quite the stir. Car Of The Day approves of ditching the trailer.
It’s on eBay in Washington with reserve not yet met.
