1977 Nissan Skyline 2000GTX

Or will they take one look at these massive flares tacked onto a 7/8ths-scale Chevelle and laugh?

The Skyline, of course, is a legendary performance car, spanning 11 generations. Of those, six generations had a top model known as the GT-R. Our Editor at Large looked at all of these GT-Rs at March’s New York International Auto Show. Today’s car is an homage to the C110-generation GT-R, based on the GTX model which carried the L20A single-cam six cylinder in lieu of the twincam found in the GT-R.

If the seller is correct, this car has a L28 2.8 liter six cylinder, which is shared with the familiar Datsun 280Z. This should be plenty of fun and performance, especially with the massive 10 and 12 inch wide alloys underneath those fenders. Breathing through triple Mikuni carbs should yield a wonderful engine tone as well.

It’s a little rough in spots, and the right-hand drive will take some getting used to, but for the select group of enthusiasts there should be plenty to love.

It’s on eBay in Houston for $50k or offer.
