1979 Volkswagen Cabrio
The VW Cabrio has a bad reputation among many enthusiasts, who derided the minimal performance and the appeal to a certain subset of drivers who care more for style than for driving pleasure.
Apparently, this VW owner had heard enough, and dropped the body atop a Fiero chassis, powered by a turbocharged Buick 3800 V6.
This has to be completely terrifying to drive. And yet, it’s oddly appealing. As one might imagine, it’s a work in progress, as three of the tires rub while the beast is in motion, and there are plenty of other little things to finish.
But we at Car of The Day salute you, o Rabiero (Fierrit?) builder. Without you and your fellow crazies, we’d have no #WTF section.
It’s on eBay in California with reserve not yet met.
