An Odd Car In An Iconic Color

1990 Volkswagen Golf Country Syncro

This metallic teal color (Montana Green in VW catalogues) was everywhere in the late ’80s and early ’90s. And just as quickly as the first teal cars hit used car lots, the color was gone. It’s time to bring teal back.

Oh, and the car beneath the paint is remarkable, too. VW apparently foresaw the current CUV trend, and built a rugged SUV out of their Golf compact hatch – raised up, with Syncro four-wheel-drive. Never imported when new, there have been a few trickling over to these shores. This one has a bit of wear, with a front bumper that has seen better days and a threadbare drivers’ seat, but overall it looks quite clean. It’s an awesome combo, and perfect for a watercooled VW fanatic.

It’s on eBay near Phoenix for $15k or offer.1990 Volkswagen Golf Country Syncro engine 1990 Volkswagen Golf Country Syncro interior 1990 Volkswagen Golf Country Syncro teal doors open 1990 Volkswagen Golf Country Syncro teal profile
