Neither Snow Nor Rain Nor..Stays These Couriers From The Swift Completion Of The Race

1979 Postal Jeep

Though we rather doubt this particular drag racer is anything resembling swift. Heck – take a look at the 11.90 written in shoe polish ¬†– we’d guess, since the Jeep is still powered by the original Iron Duke 4-cylinder and automatic transmission, that number is an eighth-mile dial-in, which translates to over eighteen seconds in the quarter mile.

No, this Jeep is meant for show, and in that, it does a nice job of emulating the “gasser” style of hot rods. It’s wearing a good bit of patina, as well, blending a couple of show trends in one small package.

While it’s certainly interesting, the COTD team would need more performance out of anything we drove. We’d suggest a well-built smallblock¬†Chevy, and altering the wheelbase by moving that stick front axle forward for stability.

It’s on eBay in Texas for $5500 or offer.1979 Postal Jeep engine 1979 Postal Jeep interior 1979 Postal Jeep white rear quarter
