1957 Turner 803
Visit any vintage racing event, and it’s fair to expect a significant number of Austin-Healey “Bugeye” Sprites buzzing around in the small-bore classes. They were quite popular to race when new, and have only recently become outclassed in SCCA racing, so there are plenty of them to go around.
Spectators at the race, however, tend to wander through the paddock, stopping at cars that catch their eye. After the seventh Bugeye, their eyes glaze over.
This Turner will get those race fans talking. While it has the same 948cc BMC A-series engine as the Sprite, an entirely different chassis and body sets things apart. This one has been restored down to the bare metal and wood, and looks magnificent. We’d love some time behind the wheel.
It’s on eBay in Connecticut with reserve not yet met.
