Ok, maybe supercar is gilding the lily a bit, but this was one of the most powerful cars one could buy during the Carter administration. That this was also the paramount of luxury for the era both reflects on how truly awesome the big saloons from Mercedes were, and how otherwise awful the malaise era was for enthusiasts.
This is spectacular. While the brown paint isn’t what most modern luxury buyers would choose, those of us at Car of the Day who also are card-carrying members of the Brown Car Appreciation Society are absolutely smitten. This is perfection.
