Typically, cars with engine swaps are absolute basketcases, with loose wires and half-assed workmanship everywhere. Indeed, the rust in the rear is a bit scary – but is it terminal? That the headliner is sagging (a relatively easy fix) and the HVAC cable sticks (ditto) tells us that the seller wants out from under this car rather than present it in better condition for more money.
But that upgrade to a 16v engine is a great match for this early, lightweight chassis. We’d love to get some time behind the wheel, and the asking price seems enticing for what you get.
