1978 Datsun 280Z
We love the Z here at COTD. The early 240Z was a truly revolutionary sports car when it was unveiled in 1970. This very similar 280Z, while sharing a great deal with the early car, had taken on a bit more of a GT vibe, as it was a bit heavier and softer, with basically the same power as the early car. Still, it’s plenty of fun for some back road thrashing.
This car is only on its second owner, and has barely 34k on the odometer. Surprisingly for a car in Ohio, rust is minimal – confined to one tiny spot on a frame rail. The unusual split sunroof is an odd find – it was evidently dealer installed, and seems to seal well, as the interior looks clean and dry.
It’s on Craigslist near Columbus for $12,500 or offer.
