Why Aren’t There More Shooting Brakes?

Why Aren’t There More Shooting Brakes?

1973 Volvo P1800ES

The shooting brake body style, like this Volvo, is so unusual that it’s quite cool. Much more utility than a coupe, it’s a great choice for someone who wants a sporty car but occasionally needs to haul stuff. Or dogs.

This Volvo looks to be beautifully restored, and the reputation for longevity is well earned – so this should be ready for many more miles than the 120k on the odometer. The only significant modification looks to be the downdraft Weber carburetor – we’d like to see the original fuel injection, or perhaps a hot pair of sidedraft carbs.

It’s on eBay in California for $24k or offer.1973 Volvo P1800ES gold front quarter 1973 Volvo P1800ES interior
