For once, the ad is right- “One of a kind.” This is THE prototype of the car that should have become the Elan. This, however, carries a front engine, rear drive Toyota powertrain, rather than the front drive Isuzu unit eventually fitted.
Wikipedia has a brief writeup about this car, with a dead link to the owners’ page – thanks to the Wayback Machine, we can see the work the seller went through to bring this unique Lotus to the US. Apparently, the restoration has stalled, but the price is attractive.
