2001 Subaru Impreza RS
Subaru – well, all of the Japanese auto industry – was very slow to give American enthusiasts the good stuff. While we watched Speedvision and played Playstation, lusting after the hot rally cars available in Europe and Japan, we were stuck with 165hp in our Impreza RS. And when we finally got the WRX and then the STi, they didn’t look quite like the ones we saw jumping through the stages, but were bulkier, less attractive.
This seller made it right, taking that early, GC-chassis RS coupe, fitting a 300+hp STi drivetrain. The bolt-on flares over gunmetal alloys are a lovely touch. That said, the wording of the ad might make one somewhat concerned that the work was not done as professionally as it could have been. Be certain to inspect thoroughly before bidding.
It’s on eBay in New Jersey for $14k or offer.
