1969 Datsun 2000
The classic Datsun roadster can be called many things, but slow is generally not one of them. Available from the factory with a 150hp two-liter engine, these were significantly faster than the contemporary British roadsters.
This roadster has had a SR20DE engine swapped in – for those not well versed in Nissanese, that’s a SR-family four cylinder, 2.0 liter, dual cam, electronic fuel injection. Notice the lack of “T” in that name – the turbocharged version is often seen as it was used in the Japan-market Silvia, best known as a drift car. The 150hp or so produced by the naturally-aspirated engine is plenty for this lightweight convertible. The swap looks clean, as does the rest of the car. The high windscreen on these later cars is a bit ungainly, but much more useful in daily driving.
It’s on eBay in Oregon for $24k or offer.
