1987 Mazda RX7 Gullwing
Long periods of storage can be unkind to cars, as rubber seals and gaskets dry out, and engine components lose lubrication. It’s worse for rotaries, as the apex seals become brittle, requiring a rebuild.
This one-off Gullwing RX7, acquired by the seller as part of a probate liquidation apparently, will be even worse, as the seals for the custom doors will have to be somehow replicated 28 years after they were first made.
It’s hard to tell how good the craftsmanship is on this RX7. It seems that, other than the bespoke coachwork, the car is as it was imported–and with 256 miles on the odometer, it could potentially have the first fill of fuel from the port in 1987 as well. Knowing rotary fuel economy, that’s not likely…
It’s on eBay in Southern California for $50k or offer.
