1990 Saab 900 SPG: Car of the Day by Carchasers

All of the contemporary car magazines had three specific complaints about turbo Saabs:

  • Torque steer.
  • Funky/notchy/vague shifter.
  • Torque steer.

Oh, and it was required to somehow work a derivation of the word “funky” in every review.

Yeah, Saabs are different. That’s why people love them. This 900 SPG is the hottest one built, with more power and better handling than the standard-issue cars. It’s not perfect, with dings and a bit of rot on the door bottoms. These faults are correctable, and a performance car icon of the Eighties should be in perfect shape for little cash.

It’s on eBay in New York with reserve not yet met.
