1968 Jaguar E-Type: Car of the Day by Carchasers
Yes, it’s Thanksgiving. Had the Pilgrims had access to E-Type Jaguars, we doubt they’d have left England. So, thank you, Sir William Lyons, for not having been born until the twentieth century, else this country (and this excuse to eat to excess) may not exist.
Is there any more beautifully-styled sports car than the E-Type? Sure, the glass headlamps on the Series One are prettier, but these Series 1.5 are a bit more usable with better brakes and a bit more power out of the 4.2. The prices seem a bit less unpalatable, too. The dual Strombergs aren’t quite as attractive under the long bonnet as SUs, but they work fine. This one seems to have been expertly restored, as well.
It’s on eBay in California for $92,500 or offer.
