No Bumpers, as Donald Intended: 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6

No Bumpers, as Donald Intended: 1959 Austin-Healey 100-6

There are few cars in this world – save perhaps pre-Leyland Jaguars, and some red cars from Maranello – as beautiful as a bumperless early Big Healey. The trapezoidal grille on the earlier cars is even sexier, but this car is saved by the massive driving lights mounted below the oval mouth. The grey side coves are subtle, and perfect – a great match to the interior.

The car has been nicely customized as a period racer might have been – Minilite-styled alloys, race-type lap belts, a nice Motolita steering wheel. We wouldn’t change a thing.

$55,000 is a big ask, but this car looks to be worth it. It’s on eBay near Atlanta.
