The 25 year import rule allows just about anything onto US roads, as long as they are (naturally) twenty-five years old. Forbidden fruit such as the Nissan Skyline GT-R and the Lancia Delta Integrale have been trickling in as they reach the all-important birthday.
It’s a bit unusual to see imports of cars that aren’t substantially different than what we got here back in the day. This 1990 Mazda RX7 GTX is one of those. It isn’t much different than the S5 GTU that graced American Mazda showrooms, so why it was brought over is a mystery.
The white Kosei alloy wheels look quite good, though the originals are typically preferred. The seller calls it a twin-turbo, when only a single snail would have been fitted originally. Otherwise, this looks very attractive..but still puzzling.
It’s on eBay in Woodmere, New York.
