Batfink lives! The “Batillac” from 60’s cartoon spoof comes to life with V-8

OK, youngsters, as you may be aware, in the 1960’s TV’s “Batman” series was a huge success. Adam West’s offbeat speaking cadence continues to influence modern entertainment, including inspiring Nicholas Cage’s interpretation of the “Big Daddy” character in last year’s great “Kick Ass” movie. But we digress.

Batman was so big, it inspired a cartoon spoof, “Batfink.” Flying rodent Batfink and his sidekick Karate fought crime in the “Batillac,” a pink Volkswagen bug with huge tailfins and similar power.

And intentional or not, this overpowered Type I bares more than a striking resemblance to the Batillac. Clearly a man of few words, the seller of this rear-engine (not mid-engine!) hybrid says, and we quote in full, “neil 4wheel brakes disc tube frame porsche 930 trans axle, lt1 vett motor 330hp.”

Find this very scary VW bug with Chevrolet V8 power in Pennsylvania, here on eBay.
